Tulsa, OK – Oklahoma Democrats are celebrating today’s decision by the United States Supreme Court which upheld as constitutional President Obama’s Affordable Health Care Act. Democratic leaders are calling for Republicans to stop fighting yesterday’s battles and get to work on relevant problems like jobs and education funding.
“We are simply thrilled with the decision. The ruling backs up what Democrats have been saying all along,” said Michael Whelan, Vice Chairman of the Tulsa County Democrats. He added that all Americans should be reassured to see the Supreme Court clearly put the rule of law ahead of party politics.
“Most importantly,” continued Whelan, “now that the country’s highest court has spoken, our state legislators can stop wasting tax-payer money fighting this law and begin moving forward on the many tough issues facing the state.”
