The Obama Campaign has selected a Tulsan’s poster design as one of the official posters to represent the President’s Jobs Plan. The Tulsa County Democratic Party (TCDP) congratulates Tulsa designer Jeff Rogers on his achievement. The contest had been promoted via the TCDP Facebook page and other social media outlets. Over the past month, Tulsans came out in droves to vote for Jeff’s poster online. The Obama Campaign announced that Jeff’s design was selected on Thursday, December 22nd.
Obama for America invited artists from across the country to volunteer their creativity to support President Obama’s American Jobs Act by designing a Poster exemplifying the effort. 12 finalists were chosen and will be voted on by the public. After nationwide voting, Jeff Rogers, a senior designer for the Tulsa Area United Way, was selected as one of the winners of the contest. In recognition of his efforts, Jeff will receive a framed print of their poster signed by President Obama and a limited edition of his poster will be sold in the campaign store with proceeds benefiting the campaign.
The Tulsa County Democratic Party is proud to see the creativity and passion of our citizens featured on such a broad national scale. Jeff Rogers’ entry was selected from thousands of entries that were submitted by designers from across the country. When asked about the project Jeff said, “Politics aside, I am proud to show the nation that Tulsa’s creativity is equal to that of any place in the country.” Tulsa County Democratic Party Vice Chairman, Michael Whelan said that the TCDP is “encouraged to see the citizens of Tulsa actively using their talents to support our President’s policies and programs.” He added, “We are so proud of how the Tulsa community joined together in actively supporting Jeff’s impressive talents.”
