Tulsan Selected as Finalist in OFA Poster Contest

Obama for America invited artists from across the country to volunteer their creativity to support President Obama’s American Jobs Act by designing a Poster exemplifying the effort. 12 finalists were chosen and will be voted on by the public. Jeff Rogers, a Tulsan designer was selected as one of those 12 finalists. The Tulsa County Democratic Party is proud to see the creativity and passion of our citizens featured on such a broad national scale.

This great opportunity was opened up to the general public, rather than high-profile designers in New York, Washington or Chicago. Jeff Rogers’ entry was selected from over 1,000 designs that were submitted by designers from across the country. When asked about the project Jeff said, “Politics aside, I am proud to show the nation that Tulsa’s creativity is equal to that of any place in the country.”

Jeff has lived in Tulsa for 2 years and has been impressed with Tulsa’s art, history, architecture and culture in general. He is currently a Senior Designer for the Tulsa Area United Way. Tulsa County Democratic Party Vice Chairman, Michael Whelan said that the TCDP is “incredibly proud to see the citizens of Tulsa actively using their talents to support our President’s policies and programs.”

Public voting is scheduled to begin the evening of Monday, November 28th, 2011 at www.barackobama.com/artworks. Three winners will get a framed print of their poster signed by President Obama and a limited edition of their poster will be sold in the campaign store with proceeds benefiting the campaign. The TCDP encourages all to vote for Jeff Rogers’ submission.
